With the current health concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic, and in response to the latest guidance and advice from the World Health Organisation and the Government, we have set out some practical steps in order to protect the well-being of our customers and colleagues.

How we can help you

We are offering essential services for those customers who are in urgent need of a plumbing or heating engineer. We will do everything in our power to keep our customers with heating, hot water and their properties maintained to as high a standard as possible.

In order to ensure that we get to as many vulnerable people as possible during this period, and indeed health workers on shift, we will be looking at our demand and capacity and prioritising, as you would expect us to.

If you have an emergency issue and you are self-isolating

If you are currently self-isolating, or are suffering from flu-like symptoms associated with COVID-19, we ask that you inform us when booking an engineer so that we can plan the most suitable approach for assisting you with your issue. Each appointment involving a customer who is self-isolating or showing symptoms will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and all reasonable precautions will be taken to protect our engineers and clients.

What you can expect

  • When you call to book we will ask about your circumstances and health simply to assess your needs and potential risks to our engineers and their families.
  • We will ask you to clear the working area and wipe down surfaces with detergent ahead of arrival as much as is physically possible.
  • Please wash your hands with soap and hot water or use an alcohol hand sanitiser with a level of over 73% alcohol. This breaks down the fatty layer on the virus which causes it to deteriorate and lose its ability to infect a person.
  • On arrival, our engineers will knock on the door and step away until answered.
  • They cannot offer a handshake and will ask you to keep a physical distance of 6.5 foot / 2 metres. If maintaining the suggested distance means staying in another room, we ask that you do so.
  • Our engineers will wear protective gloves at all times, and may wear additional protective clothing if required.
  • We are also happy to conduct conversations via telephone if you wish to stay in a different room throughout.
Looking after you and our engineers
  • We are providing our engineers with regular updates and coaching on hygiene and how to deal with their work in these situations.
  • Engineers have been instructed that they must self-isolate if they display any symptoms.
